Stony Cottage, Bradford (part two) 29th April 2006

This is our second visit to this lovely old cottage in the outskirts of Bradford...and the investigators present are:- myself (Dawn), Wendy and our medium, Graham.

We decided this time to start at 9pm and go through to the early hours, its wasn't long after arriving that Graham was off on his own to get a feeling for the place again. Whilst he was doing that, myself and Wendy interviewed Trish about any further happenings since out last visit there, she said that if anything the occurrences had increased and actually they had now arranged to move out in two weeks time, so sadly this is going to be our last visit there.

Trish had told us during our chat, that a couple of weeks ago, she had woken up in the middle of the night to find the entire contents of her window bottom had been removed and placed under her bed!... I remember her saying last time we were there, that her TV set had switched its self on by its self and I asked whether this had happened again since, she said that it had not, but her clock radio had come on a couple of times by its self and also on a couple of occasions, had turned its self off completely! (so no alarm call the next morning)....

I also asked whether her cat had still refused to go up onto the top floor, and she confirmed that the cat still didn't or wouldn't go up onto the third floor...(Graham had previously picked up on a big black dog up there)...whilst we were chatting, Trish's daughter said that she had started to hear footfalls coming down the stairs during the daytime, and on one occasion had gone to see who was there, and felt something cold feel as though it had passed straight through her....

As we ended our conversation for now, myself and Wendy set about to see where Graham was, we set off up to the first landing, which has the bathroom and Trish's bedroom on that floor, the house was in darkness and Trish was sat in the lounge downstairs with a couple of friends chatting. Wendy had just passed by the opened dark room that was Trish's bedroom, and I was behind following, Wendy had just passed the doorway and as I got there there was a bright flash that came from Trish's room, I stopped and looked in thinking Graham had taken a picture or something, and was a bit taken aback to find it was actually the TV that had switched its self on just as we were passing!!! I looked in the room, with Wendy, and no one was there....I cannot explain why that should happen, we were both at a loss...

Graham heard me call out and came down from the top floor to see what had happened...He said he wasn't particularly feeling any presence, and no readings were picked up on the EMF Meter, we switched the TV back off and called out for that to be done again, to no avail...we sat in the bedroom for a while and we all heard a noise like a scraping of some sort* (on two occasions)....after a while we decided to move on to the top floor. Graham mentioned that he had a strong energy on the top floor, so we then made our way upstairs...(baring in mind we had been conducting this investigation for only about one hour to press)...

Graham said he had the name of three boys come to mind, Samuel, Joshua and George, and the surname he was getting was "Watmough"? or something very similar...(Trish later confirmed that this family had once lived there)...

Whilst we were stood in the largest bedroom on the top floor (Kayleigh's room), Graham said he had seen a flash of light of some description so we all concentrated on what we could see, Graham commented that he could see a figure in the corner of the room, and I also agreed that it did appear to be a shape of some sort, Wendy couldn't see, as she was sat with her back to it!... myself and Wendy also saw what looked like flashes of light, again we asked on several occasions for this to happen and whether it was coincidence or what, we did seem to get a reaction to our requests...

We heard one of Trish's friends calling out, she had come up to see what was happening, and she asked us whether we had opened any drawers in Trish's bedroom....Obviously we had not, but she said that Trish's bedside set of drawers had now got its top drawer open fully...so we all went down to look, and we actually found that two drawers were now fully open, the top one and the one below! *We shut the drawers and instantly recognised that as the sound we had heard whilst we had been in that room earlier!, but the drawers were definitely not open at that time we three were there....Graham decided to place his IR cam and a trigger object, the room was then locked off (11.30pm).

At this time we were all ready for a break so we adjourned to the kitchen for a cuppa and a re-cap of events....

After our break Graham, Wendy and Myself and some guests made our way back up to the top floor, Graham was commenting that he had got a man with him this time who was speaking gibberish, when I asked him to elaborate he said that he felt the man was insane...after a short while Graham said that the name of "Byerley Hall" or something very similar, was coming to him, at which point one of the guests who is local to the area said that that was the name of an old institution where people with mental difficulties were housed, it is now demolished...

A few of the guests where commenting on a chemical smell in the room, and again people were seeing light anomalies in this room. My self and Wendy decided to go onto the landing below, and Graham remained in the room with a few of the guests, it seemed like only a few minutes had passed before one of the guests said that whilst they had been calling out, the bedroom door had closed onto her, as she was stood in the door way...

People were starting to feel quite drained so we adjourned again for a break and at this time called a close to the investigation...Graham has yet to review the footage, and if anything is seen I will add it to this report.......

I would like very much to thank Trish and her family for making us so welcome, and I extend out best wishes to them, & for a more peaceful time in their new house...

Foot note: We had offered to have the house cleared for her, by our (Medium) but she refused, saying that it was no guarantee it would be gone, and that in a lot of cases it actually can make things worse......and that they (the family)just wanted to leave this lovely old house....we respect her wishes in this matter...
